I’m the 3rd owner of this nice running ’94 XR2 Turbo Mercury Capri. I purchased this from the 2nd owner July 12th of this year.
Since buying, I have cleaned the car up a bit by taking it to a body shop & have the front bumper replaced & some paint work on both front fenders & headlight coverplates..(The paint match from previous body work was a poor patch). The previous front bumper had 2 bad cracks in it from what appears to be, a bad patch job to a plastic bumper that should have been replaced.. thats now been done… I had the front nose repainted factory green to match. Also replaced the trunk shocks with brand new ones, added new floor matts & and some plastic trim here and there from the ‘94 parts car that I had. the drivers seat on the left side is a bit worn, and on the passenger seat, the seam on the bottom has busted the stiching as shown in the pics. At some point in time, the radiator has been replaced with an al metal radiator, which is better than the OEM Metal & plastic version.
I drive this car daily & it runs great. At 140k miles, it occasionally does smoke at first when you first start it up, but that passes after it runs. Since the purchase date I’ve put about 2000 miles on the car. AC doesn’t work.. but it’s a convertible. Heat works great.
All motors work, all lights work. The pass fog light is cracked but still works. Cruise control works. The soft top has 2 tears in the rear bows & one very small one on top. I will include a BRAND NEW Soft top that was purschased for the car from Electrolite? (I think thats the name of the company, will have to verify) It has a painted to match hardtop and the rear defroster works great.
This car can be driven ANYWHERE. If you live close by, I welcome that you come & test drive.
With the apparent slight damage to the front end that this car had..(looks great now), this car has a rebuilt Indiana title.. it’s in my name & it’s free & clear. According to the VIN report it appears it was wrecked in ‘03
I reserve the right to end this auction early as I have it for sale locally. Otherwise, use the BIN or make me an offer I can’t refuse!
Please see VIN report below that I just ran 10/16/2008
